Our mission is to honor and preserve the legacy of the Montford Point Marines and promote their historical legacy. These brave men set out to simply serve their Nation and ended up making history by being the first African American men to serve in the Marine Corps. Their service helped to bring about the end of segregation in the military.

The National Montford Point Marine Association, Inc works to preserve the stories and experiences of these brave individuals, ensuring that their sacrifices and achievements are not forgotten. Our mission is twofold: to preserve the history and traditions of the Montford Point Marines by uplifting our communities through various outreach programs and initiatives. From scholarships and mentoring programs to community service and advocacy, we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.

Additionally, I would like to take a moment to highlight our ongoing mission to locate and identify the remaining Montford Point Marines who have yet to be recognized. Out of the approximately 20,000 courageous individuals who trained at Montford Point Camp, only about 3,000 have been officially identified and awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. It is our unwavering commitment to find the remaining 17,000 Montford Point Marines or their families so that they too can receive the well-deserved gratitude of a grateful nation. Through collaborative efforts, outreach programs, and the support of our community, we aim to ensure that every Montford Point Marine is honored and acknowledged for their service and sacrifice

Young Marines

Our programs such as the The Young Marines Program introduce our youth to the structure and discipline of military service focusing on leadership and citizenship through community service.

Scholarship

Since 1968, the National Association and chartered chapters have invested in the education of our future leaders.  There is no better way to protect the future than by helping our youth with their higher educational goals.

Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony

In 2011, The Montford Point Marines were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for their service and sacrifice to this Nation during WWII. The Chapter is committed to ensuring all Montford Point Marines are awarded their Congressional Gold Medals. This includes presenting the Medal to the families of those that are no longer with us.
