The Montford Point Marine Association and the Atlanta Chapter has truly embarked on another exceptional year leading to our Awards Banquet. I extend many thanks to each of you for making this year a rewarding venture for our heroes and their families. The Atlanta Chapter remain committed to our cause of "Preserving the Legacy" of the 20,000 African American men, known as Montford Point Marines.
Our Guest Speaker, LtGen Willie Williams (Ret). He started his Marine Corps career after graduating from Stillman College in 1974. He served in myriad of billets. He served as Commander of the 31st MEU, as well as Assistant Deputy Commandant of Installations and Logistics at Marine Corps Headquarters, to name a few. Recently retired as the Director of the Marine Corps staff at Marine Corps Headquarters, making him third in the chain of command for the entire Marine Corps, behind only the commandant and the assistant commandant.
