The National Montford Point Marine Association, Atlanta Chapter has made great strides helping students accomplish their educational dreams and goals.  The association is profoundly enthusiastic about uplifting its community through higher education and hard work.

As we continue to grow, we will continue to support our community to improve education, better jobs, and better economic standards. We need your financial support to assist our efforts in supporting our future scholarship recipients.


2019 scholARSHIP WINNERS

Babin Van der Waal

Babin Van der Waal is a graduate of North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Georgia.  She is the daughter of Michael and Patricia Van der Wall. Babin is currently attending Georgia State University pursing a degree in International Business. Babin was a member of North Cobb’s NJROTC Unit.



Alexander Ash-Green

Alexander Ash-Green is a graduate of Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia. He is the son of Warren and Kathea Green. Alex is currently attending Georgia Southern University pursing a degree in Graphic Design and Computer Gaming Design.



2020 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

Brandon C. Wilson

Brandon is a graduate of Lithia Springs High School in Lithia Springs, Georgia where he complete 4 years of JROTC. Brandon is currently attending Morehouse College and pursing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and minoring Political Science.


2022 Scholarship Winners



Kendall Kennedy is a graduate of New Manchester High School in Douglasville Georgia. Kendall is the daughter of Wendell and Kim Kennedy. Kendall will attend Albany State University in the fall of 2022 where she will major in biology and minor in African-American studies. After graduating college she plans on going back to school to study journalism.

Justin Ferdinand



Justin Ferdinand is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School in Douglasville Georgia. He is the son of Alvin and Hillery Ferdinand. Justin will attend Kennesaw State University in the fall of 2022 where he plans to pursue his career goal of becoming a forensic scientist. 

2023 Scholarship Winner


Alaina graduated with honors with a 4.289 from DeKalb School of the Arts High School in DeKalb County School district. She is the daughter Neil and Shannon Crosslin. Alaina noted that 75 percent of the Montford Point Marines had been to college. Alaina will be a part of the next generation of successful black doctors, starting at the University of Georgia.
